WELCOME TO MONDAY NIGHT RAW!!
Michael Cole: Welcome ladies and gentlemen, to Monday Night RAW! We are less than a week away from one of the biggest Pay-Per-Views of the year: the Royal Rumble! Many superstars are on edge as the chance of a lifetime is at their doorsteps. Tonight we have unforgettable action as Heath Slater continues his #1 Contender's Challenge. We also have several big debuts this week with The Blueprint Matt Morgan and The Intellectual Savior of the Masses, Damien Sandow. Then we have our main event which could completely change the landscape of the Royal Rumble. Alex Shelley goes one on one with John Cena with special guest referee Chris Jericho and the stakes couldn't be higher. If Shelley wins, he gets to pick the match stipulation against Jericho at the Rumble. If Cena wins, the match for the wCw title becomes a Triple Threat match! This RAW is going to be epic and I hope you come along for the ride!
Match One Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns Normal Match Two new members of the RAW roster are Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns. They both have clean slates and a lot to prove. Rhodes has a famous dad and incredible genes while Reigns is cousins with one of wCw's biggest stars, The Rock. Tonight we will see who gets off to the better start.
Match Two Heath Slater vs. Christian Normal Match Intercontinental Champion Heath Slater sees blood in the water. Christian's win-loss record has been pretty poor as of late and Slater is looking to cash in for an easy win. Will Slater's mean streak continue or will Captain Charisma make a huge impact and put the loud mouth Slater down for the count? It's the battle of the goof balls and this match will be anything but typical.
Match Three Steve Austin vs. Alberto Del Rio Normal Match As Austin is in the ring, waiting for Brock Lesnar to appear, an unexpected song hits the arena. It's Alberto Del Rio! Del Rio has taken out several of wCw's newcomers, but tonight he has to face the Texas Rattlesnake who is not in a good mood. With Austin tap out to Del Rio's Armbreaker? Or will Austin stun Del Rio into another dimension and begin his trek to the top of wCw's ranks?
Match Four Matt Morgan vs. Santino Marella Cage Match Two Men, One Cage. In this crazy match-up, two very unrelated men: Matt Morgan and Santino Marella will enter a steel cage and will fight to escape it. The winner of this match will no doubt make an impression on the GM and with the Rumble less than a week away, will surely serve as momentum going into the crazy Rumble match. Matt Morgan says he won't be overlooked and a win here tonight will prove his point. Santino on the other hand, shocked the world when he almost beat Brock Lesnar last week. Marella might look like a clown, but he fights like a champion and will not go down without a fight.
Match Four Val Venis w/ Manager vs. Kevin Nash Normal Match w/ Manager Slater's challenge continues as Kevin Nash gets the lucky opportunity to face Val Venis. If Nash can win he will go on to fight Slater at the Rumble. It won't be an easy task as even though Slater won't be at ringside with his buddy, Val still has his prize from Christmas Chaos: a free manager for six months! Both men have won their last match, but who will ultimately come out on top!?
Match Five Damien Sandow vs. Kassius Ohno Knock Out Only Match Damien Sandow has brought sophistication to wCw. Whether that's a good thing or not, we don't really know. What we do know is that Kassius Ohno loves to hit people in the face! Will Ohno be able to KO Sandow, or will Sandow teach this brute a lesson in his first match on RAW?
Main Event
John Cena vs. Alex Shelly w/ Special Guest Referee Chris Jericho Normal Special Guest Referee Match RAW's main event tonight will determine a lot going into Sunday's Royal Rumble. The rookie Alex Shelley has to defeat wCw's own, John Cena. While the task seems near impossible, if Shelley can win he will have a massive advantage going into the Pay-Per-View. He will be able to select the stipulation for his wCw title match against Chris Jericho. Cage match, Ironman, Hell in a Cell, you name it, he can pick it. On the flipside, if LOLCENAWINS, he will be added to the wCw title match at the Royal Rumble, making it a triple threat match. If the stakes weren't big enough, General Manager John Laurinaitis has thrown in a twist. The referee for the match will be none other than wCw Champion Chris Jericho! Will Y2J call it down the middle or will he help the man that helps his chances of winning Sunday? Either way it will be a huge match and John Laurinaitis really hopes John Cena uses his recording device so we can watch it.
